Why work from home when you can work from anywhere this summer? It seems jobseekers are looking for roles that let them work from anywhere (WFA), according to new data.

If you fancy working from the south of France or on the beaches in the Far East, there is a real possibility this is achievable.

With the warmer months approaching this seems to be high on the priority list for job seekers.

The Demand for fully remote roles has risen by 21%, as per the latest Flexa index, which analysed more than 310,000 job searches between January and March.

Exploring varying working hours and annual leave policies to maximise weekends and holidays also featured on their wishlists. Flexa co-founder Molly Johnson-Jones said: “The huge amount of data generated by these sample sizes has shown that seasonal working trends look set to become a regular pattern as people continue to demand a more flexible work-life balance.”

This is interesting as demand for fully remote roles fell last autumn which could have been due to the cost of living and the uncertainty surrounding this – with searches for companies offering fully remote roles dropping to an all-time low of 26% in December 2022.

However, this renewed popularity this year shows a desire for different locations based on seasonal changes.

Technology is the true enabler for this and even though this technology has been available since 2017, businesses and the public sector were pretty much coerced to embrace this technology during the covid epidemic.
