As part of its expansion programme in 2005, Neely Transport moved to bigger premises and needed to source a reliable Telecoms company to design and install a new telephone system. HBT Communications was recommended to them.

HBT's Solution
Peter Richardson from HBT met with Clive Neely, Managing Director of Neely Transport, to discuss the business’ requirements. A brand-new installation provides an opportunity to work from a blank canvas and design a phone system to work efficiently today and into the future, with the capability to grow and expand as the business grows and technology develops. Since 2005, HBT has supported Neely Transport through 3 upgrades; most recently upgrading the internet connectivity to enable the phone system to move from a traditional ASDL line to IP. An IP phone system provides greater flexibility and the improvements of the internet speed and reliability has also meant that the company could move to a cloud based software system, opening-up more job opportunities within the Pallet Network of which Neely Transport are members. The Pallet Network’s software enables the business to co-ordinate jobs and source pick-ups for drivers out on the road returning from drop-offs with an empty vehicle. This has improved the profitability of the business.
Site security is a priority for any logistics company and Neely Transport is now able to use the internet to run a cloud based package to control its CCTV which is then monitored by a security firm off-site. It is vital that this runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to adhere to legal and customer requirements for the safety and security of goods held on site.
