Victoria James Jewellers is a family-run, manufacturing jeweller based in the world-famous Birmingham Jewellery Quarter. Their existing communications system was outdated and in poor condition. They regularly experienced crackling phone lines when speaking to customers and their internet speeds were painfully slow, around 5 Mbps, making it difficult to run a modern business effectively.Results
The new setup is a huge improvement. Call quality is crystal clear and internet speed has increased from a sluggish 5 Mbps to a high-speed 100 Mbps connection offering up to 20x faster performance. This means smoother browsing, faster downloads and improved day-to-day productivity across the business.
The Solution
When Victoria James Jewellers began exploring options, they gathered quotes from five different suppliers. They chose HBT Communications because, unlike others whose solutions felt overly complex and over-promised, HBT offered a realistic and tailored approach suited to their business and location in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter. HBT recommended upgrading from their outdated connection to a full-fibre internet service, far more appropriate for their needs. As their Wi-Fi coverage was also poor, we installed a new wireless access point to improve connectivity throughout the premises. We also replaced their old phone system with a new cloud-based solution that fits the needs of a retail environment. The new system includes a mobile app (ideal for taking calls on the go or from their Stratford-upon-Avon store), a desktop application, and voicemail with email integration giving them greater flexibility and efficiency. .
